Skinny Jeans

We've been getting a lot of questions regarding skinny jeans, namely is this a fashion trend that's going to continue or it fading away?

Skinny jeans are here to stay for quite some time, if by skinny jeans you mean a slim fit as opposed to 1990s baggy jeans. If you have a muscular build you needn't wear jeans that are called skinny. What counts is the fit; the slim profile where there is little extra fabric around the leg.

NY, Brooklyn, Park Slope -- a great place for a bear

According to Men's Journal Brooklyn is one of the great places to have a beer.

[NYC] is home to more young, finicky drinkers than any other city in the country. The result: the greatest beer-bar scene in the U.S. More than 20,000 bars and restaurants operate within the five boroughs, and even dives carry great imports such as Jever and Hoegaarden.

Where to Drink: Brooklyn. It’s perhaps the best place in America for a pub crawl. Start with Gaffel Kölsch at the cavernous “middle European” beer hall Radegast. Continue the binge a 10-minute walk away at Spuyten Duyvil for smartly chosen Belgian brews. Then either finish the night on the patio of Park Slope’s extreme-beer-focused the Gate or sipping magnificent, wallet-busting rarities (think $50-plus bottles) at nearby Beer Table.

Beer Culture: Nearly every week, the Blind Tiger in the West Village lets brewmasters from around the world hijack its taps to pour their own creations; it’s the only bar we know of where this happens.

Bogosse

We have another arrival of Bogosse Shirts. Sizes from XS (1) to XXL (6)

Stone Rose shirts have come in.

We have many colors, salmon (shown) purple, black, white, red. They have a similar cut to the Bogosse: athletic shoulders and a slim body. The difference is that the Stone Rose shirts have a shorter body and sleeves.

Mariano Rivera

Once again I think they're bringing in Rivera too early. Don't ask him to retire 5 or 6 batters unless it's absolutely necessary. Marte was pitching great, he could have faced another batter. Torre made that mistake a few times and now his apostle is doing the same. Better to have Marte continue until he gives up a hit and then bring Rivera in. Good thing I'm not a Yankee fan, it would drive me nuts.

Razor is FIVE years old!

Our new Kinross cashmere sweaters are in. They're in a whole slew of great colors; we have zippered henleys, some with hoodies. The pictures don't tell the story. We used Kinross's photos; they chose to have a preppy photo shoot. YOU don't have to be preppy to wear them. They FEEL fantastic.  Wear real cashmere and you'll never buy those bargain basement cashmeres again.

One thing to keep in mind all cashmere is not created equal. The label "100% cashmere" applies to the animal hair, not the way it was collected, sorted, dyed, bleached or knitted.  To go solely by the label "100% cashmere" when selecting a garment is like going by the label "100% grapes" when selecting a wine.

Taking care of your glass cufflinks and belt-buckles

We've been asked "what should I use to clean and take care of my cufflinks." We've asked our glass makers what they recommend. Caring for Glass Art - Kwik Clean Spray Chemicals in local water supplies can be damaging and corrosive to metals. Almost all glass cleaners contain ammonia which is corrosive to metals. Kwik Clean Spray is formulated to neutralize any remaining acids and to eliminate "mold" which may apprear on glass for various reasons. Spray on, wipe off with dry cloth or paper towel.

Emanuel Goes on to Greener Pastures

Emanuel came to NYC to be an image consultant. He found a position in his field. He did a wonderful job merchandizing and putting together outfits for people. We wish him well in his new endeavors.
